What Local Riders Say About Our Work

"I’ve used Mike for years to look after all my mountain bikes (no matter how filthy they were!) and they’ve always been treated with utmost care and attention. From simple service work to much more difficult stuff; threading the BB after the push-fit ovaled out…   He’s always been highly skilled and has always given me sound advice and good value. Thoroughly recommend.
"

Richard Devine

"Mike has been looking after my bikes for over 10 years now . All his work is of the highest standard, he takes great pride in it . Much better than the mainstream shops on the high street. Very professional to deal with, and gives honest advice. Highly recommended!"

Martin

"Mike just serviced my Orbea ebike. Much of the work was to the drive train and forks. As good as brand-new now. Very happy with the updates he sent as we went along and very happy with the quality of the work. Highly recommended. The 'go-to' guy."

Bruce Thomas

"Mike has serviced all of our families mtb/downhill bikes which has resulted in amazing holidays to bike parks in Europe and in the UK without having issues! We tend to give our bikes a hard time and his knowledge, expertise and advice has helped us avoid problems on many occasions. Can’t recommend Mike enough and I know others who had exactly the same experience. His customer service is brilliant too."

J D

"Mike did an amazing job on my sons bike. The bike looked new when he returned it . Mike responded quickly and had it back as quick. Would always use Mike in future. He is really knowledgeable and great guy. Recommended.

"I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Mike as a bike mechanic. He has just serviced my 10 year old touring bike and my wife thought I had brought a new one! Mike has excellent knowledge, he gave me a breakdown of works and cost and a list of what needs replacing and what to keep an eye on moving forward. Excellent work Mike I can’t thank you enough 👍"

Common Questions

Explore Essential Questions Answered.

Do you collect bikes from Devizes?

+

Yes. If you are in Devizes or one of the nearby villages, we can collect your bike within fifteen miles of Yatesbury. We take it to the workshop, do the agreed work and return it once it is finished, so you do not have to move a damaged or muddy bike yourself.

What is included in a bike service?

+

A service always begins with a full inspection of the bike to see what it actually needs. After that you receive two quotes. One covers the essential work to make the bike safe and functional, the other includes further servicing or parts that will improve how it rides and reduce future problems. Depending on the condition, the work can include wheel truing, brake and gear setup, drivetrain cleaning, bearing checks and more.

How long will you need my bike for?

+

Time frames vary with the size of the job and parts availability. Smaller repairs and basic servicing can often be turned around quite quickly. Bigger tasks, such as heavy wear and tear, suspension services or full builds, can take longer. When we confirm the work, we also confirm how long we will need the bike for.

Do you service all kinds of bikes in Devizes?

+

Yes. We work on road bikes, mountain bikes, gravel and adventure bikes, e bikes, commuters and kids bikes. With many years in the workshop, we are used to seeing a wide mix of brands, components and riding styles from the Devizes area.

Why do you give two quotes instead of one?

+

Giving two quotes keeps things clear. The first quote tells you the minimum work needed to make the bike safe and rideable again. The second sets out the extra servicing or parts that would improve performance and help the bike last longer. You can choose the option that suits your budget and how much you use the bike, without any pressure.

Can you help if I ride off road near Devizes?

+

Yes. If you use the bridleways and trails around Devizes, regular maintenance makes a big difference to how your bike feels. We look after drivetrains, brakes, wheels and suspension, including 80 hour and 200 hour fork and shock services, so the bike stays controlled, quiet and reliable off road.
