Why Choose us

Why riders choose White Horse Cycleworks

Experienced hands on every job

With many years spent working solely on bikes, we are used to tracking down noises, play and shifting issues, as well as dealing with general wear and tear. Every job is handled by an experienced mechanic, not handed off to a junior.

Clear assessments & honest advice

We always start with an inspection so we understand what the bike really needs. You then receive two quotes, one covering the basics to make it safe and rideable, and another with fuller work and parts that will improve performance and reduce future problems. You decide which route to take.

Free collection within Fifiteen miles

If you live in Wroughton or nearby, we can collect your bike from home or work, bring it to the workshop and drop it back once the job is done. It removes the hassle of transporting a dirty or broken bike and makes getting a service done much easier.

Workmanship you can rely on

From fixing punctures and noisy drivetrains to full suspension servicing and custom builds, everything is done with care and attention to detail. The aim is straightforward, a bike that feels solid, runs quietly and keeps doing the job you need it to do.

What Local Riders Say About Our Work

"I’ve used Mike for years to look after all my mountain bikes (no matter how filthy they were!) and they’ve always been treated with utmost care and attention. From simple service work to much more difficult stuff; threading the BB after the push-fit ovaled out…   He’s always been highly skilled and has always given me sound advice and good value. Thoroughly recommend.
"

Richard Devine

"Mike has been looking after my bikes for over 10 years now . All his work is of the highest standard, he takes great pride in it . Much better than the mainstream shops on the high street. Very professional to deal with, and gives honest advice. Highly recommended!"

Martin

"Mike just serviced my Orbea ebike. Much of the work was to the drive train and forks. As good as brand-new now. Very happy with the updates he sent as we went along and very happy with the quality of the work. Highly recommended. The 'go-to' guy."

Bruce Thomas

"Mike has serviced all of our families mtb/downhill bikes which has resulted in amazing holidays to bike parks in Europe and in the UK without having issues! We tend to give our bikes a hard time and his knowledge, expertise and advice has helped us avoid problems on many occasions. Can’t recommend Mike enough and I know others who had exactly the same experience. His customer service is brilliant too."

J D

"I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Mike as a bike mechanic. He has just serviced my 10 year old touring bike and my wife thought I had brought a new one! Mike has excellent knowledge, he gave me a breakdown of works and cost and a list of what needs replacing and what to keep an eye on moving forward. Excellent work Mike I can’t thank you enough 👍"

Common Questions

Explore Essential Questions Answered.

Do you collect bikes from Wroughton?

+

Yes. If you are in Wroughton or one of the nearby villages, we can collect your bike within fifteen miles of Yatesbury. We take it to the workshop, carry out the agreed work and return it once it is finished.

What does a bike service involve?

+

A service always begins with a full inspection to see what the bike actually needs. After that we send two quotes. One covers the essential work to make the bike safe and functional, the other sets out extra servicing or parts that will improve how it rides and help components last longer.

How long will you need my bike for?

+

Turnaround time depends on the size of the job and whether parts are needed. Simple repairs and basic servicing can often be completed quite quickly. Larger tasks, such as heavy wear, suspension servicing or full builds, can take longer. We will confirm an estimated time when we agree the work.

Do you work on all types and brands of bikes?

+

Yes. We look after road bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes, e bikes, commuters and kids bikes from a wide range of brands. Years in the workshop mean we are used to dealing with many different component sets and setups from riders in and around Wroughton.

Why do you provide two quotes instead of one?

+

Providing two quotes keeps things clear and avoids pressure. The first quote covers the minimum work needed to make the bike safe and usable. The second includes the extra servicing and parts that will improve performance and reduce future problems. You pick the option that suits your budget and how much you ride.

Can you look after bikes used on the roads and tracks around Wroughton?

+

Yes. Whether you mainly ride on the road, use the local tracks or mix both, we can help keep the bike in good shape. That includes drivetrain care, brake work, wheel truing and suspension servicing, including 80 hour and 200 hour fork and shock services.
